Belfast High School - Sports Centre
The new sports complex showcases a striking two-storey glazed façade, inclined for aesthetic appeal. The facility includes a 690-square-meter sports hall, a gym, a classroom, changing rooms, showers, and toilets. North-facing roof lights have been incorporated to maximize natural lighting while minimizing glare, contributing to the building's energy efficiency
In line with modern sustainability practices, the sports complex incorporates energy-efficient features such as LED lighting, underfloor heating, and solar hot water systems. These installations not only reduce the building's environmental footprint but also serve as practical teaching tools for students.
The project also included the development of new car parking areas, pathways, and hardstanding surfaces around the building and pitch, improving accessibility and usability for both students and staff.
